The crucifixion of Our Lord is probably one of the most depicted dramas in the Gospel story. A false trial, lying witnesses, corrupt judges, mocking soldiers, friends who betray, followers who flee at the most urgent moment in their Master’s life, extreme torture, and an execution which brings maximum pain and anxiety to the victim… I once read a medical report on what happens to a human body during an execution of this kind. It was very hard to read.
